Ben Everson, musical evangelist

I'd like to be an encouragement to your church!

I’d love to talk with you about coming your direction for a evening of music and message. I’m Evangelist Ben Everson, and I’ve been serving local churches like yours full-time for over 20 years.

I think that our flavor of ministry is exactly what many churches really need right now. We’ve been scheduling special REFRESHMENT CONCERTS across the country, and we’ve seen a tremendous response.

Refreshment Concerts

These concerts last 60-70 minutes, and we bring about 50 minutes of music, followed by a short challenge from the Word of God. We hold them on any night of the week.

Ben's Background

Ben was born and raised in mid-Michigan. His home church all his life is Calvary Baptist of Midland, Michigan, where he also graduated from the Christian school. He went to Bible college at Maranatha and Northland (while it was still NBBC). He naturally communicates in an approach everyone can appreciate: a friendly, sincere spirit along with some light humor, all based upon an accurate understanding of God’s Word.

Ben and his wife Amanda launched out into evangelism in 2003 after being on staff at Northland. They have raised all 4 kids on the road throughout their traveling in revival meetings and concerts across the USA as well as internationally. They have recorded scores of music albums released around the world. They are increasing their travel over the next few years.

Evangelist Ben Everson grew up here at Calvary and showed spiritual aptitude while still in high school. He has ministered with great blessing through the years. I heartily recommend his family’s Christ-centered ministry to others!”

Dr. Dan Dickerson

Senior Pastor, Calvary Baptist Church of Midland, MI

What kind of concert?

We’ll bring a variety of music that includes solo and duets, some with orchestra, and some with a small group of instruments. Ben is known for his one-man a cappella music where he sings all the parts himself.

Musical Style

My style is noted for being melodic with rich harmonies. I love singable music that lifts your heart! We include a traditional gospel quartet-type sound to a few of the pieces, too. I also add a cinematic/symphonic sound to some of the music as well. Here’s an example of a gospel song and a symphonic song below.

Having grown up in a musician’s home, I recognize the frustration of a lot of pastors on this issue on all sides. I work extremely hard to take a creative and balanced approach to the issue in order to benefit the most people in each church. I’m not hyper-conservative, but I’m not producing Christian rock, either. I have a proven track record of staying clear of the ditches on either side of the road.

I have collaborated with Ron Hamilton, Dr. Frank Garlock, and others from Majesty Music. I would describe my musical position as very similar to them with a little more creative liberty.

If you are looking for a music ministry that only does hymns written before 1900, or only sings with a piano, we would not be a good fit for you. But if you are looking for a drum set and electric guitars, we’re not for you, either. We aim to be creative and refreshing within biblical parameters.

Here’s an example of my a cappella music, featuring Ron Hamilton. I also include some other musical favorites!

Further Information

If you have us in for a one-night REFRESHMENT CONCERT, these items may not be considerations. But we also hold Sunday-Wednesday REFRESHMENT MEETINGS, complete with singing and preaching. You may find these relevant in any case.

 Versions

I love and use only the King James Version in all aspects of our ministry. However, I also understand different viewpoints and I minister often in churches who don’t share my thoughts. I have never caused an issue on the topic.

To demonstrate this, you can know that I have ministered to and been welcomed in some fashion at all these Christian colleges: West Coast Baptist College, Ambassador Baptist College, International Baptist College, Maranatha Baptist University, Pensacola Christian College, and Faith Baptist Bible College.

Hermeneutics

I am a classic dispensationalist (Scofieldian for the most part), recognizing the difference between Israel and the Church. I am pre-tribulational and pre-millenial in my eschatology. I realize there are good men who take a different position on the timing of the Rapture, but I’m quite confident the Bible shows it to be pre-tribulational.

I believe in expository preaching, but I believe it can be applied to specific topics as well.

Financial Information

Our financial requests vary slightly based on the church size. Generally, our needs involve a travel expense, one hotel room, and a love offering. We can be more specific as we communicate.

Recommendations

Words of Support for Evangelist Ben Everson

Evangelist Ben Everson gave us by far the best presentation I’ve heard on the subject of music. He connected with our congregation and communicated his message clearly. Every point was proven biblically and musically. We saw first-hand how much music affects us and many made decisions for the Lord. I encourage every ministry to invite Bro. Everson to share this timely presentation.

Pastor Joe Shakour, Tabernacle Baptist Church in Wilson, NC

Ben is a gifted individual with a zeal for life. He has a heart for revival, a heart for people, and a heart for God. His enthusiasm and heart will have a great impact on those God gives him the opportunity to serve.

Dr. Rand Hummel, Director of The Wilds of New England

The music ministry of Ben Everson is spirit-filled and heart touching. We have him minister often at Pensacola Christian College where students, faculty, and staff enjoy his conversational style and humble spirit. We also appreciate his practical approach and thoughtful application of Scripture as he teaches about the philosophy of sacred music.

Dr. Troy Shoemaker, President of Pensacola Christian College

I love Ben Everson’s music, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear his preaching for the first time. He is an underrated preacher. We’ve had him and his family back to Smyrna Baptist Church on multiple occasions.

Dr. Bill Adams, Smryna Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL

You said others could do better preaching on that passage. No, they haven’t. That’s the best I’ve ever heard on that passage. That was really, really great! (Ben’s preaching March 20, 2022)

Dr. Johnny Pope, Christchurch Baptist Fellowship, Houston, TX

Ben Everson is one of my favorite vocalists. It is incredible what he can do with his voice and his a cappella work.

Shelly Hamilton, Majesty Music

I enthusiastically recommend Fusses, Fights, and Funerals as important reading for anyone who wants practical, thorough, and useful information about the problems that the present generation is facing. It communicates in understandable ways all the issues that are difficult for many people to understand. It addresses these issues in an unbiased manner.

Dr. Frank Garlock, founder of Majesty Music

Excellent and thorough preaching with a sense of humor. Dispensationally-sound.

Dr. Collins Glenn (1933-2020), noted dispensationalist teacher and founding pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Muncie, IN

Ben Everson is a gifted vocalist, musician, and preacher. This God-given combination gives him a helpful perspective on the controversial issue of music. Ben is somewhat atypical in that he embraces a conservative philosophy of music, yet leaves room for variation within the boundaries of the major lines of Scripture. His new thought-provoking book will challenge your thinking and aid you in forming or adjusting your music convictions from the Word of God.

Dr. John R. Van Gelderen, Evangelist, Revival Focus Ministries

My heart is thrilled with Ben’s burden for revival. I know his passion and the excellent quality of his preaching. I’m very encouraged he is willing to give himself to see God touch lives in our churches and schools.

Dr. Les Ollila, founder and director of Building Great Leaders, former president and chancellor of Northland Baptist Bible College

Such a talented musician with a desire to glorify our Lord in everything he creates.

Vic Eliason (1936-2015), founder of VCY America radio network

I have great appreciation for the quality and content of Ben’s music and delivery in concert ministry.  He presents a genuine passion for revival and Christlikeness.  Truly a blessing!

Jim Schneider, Executive Director of VCY America
